SNEAKER TALK

Sneaker Talk: F/W20 Supreme

My thoughts on the upcoming Fall/Winter '20 Season.

I know this isn’t sneaker related but just bare with me for this one. I’ll find a proper tag/category for this one later.

So earlier today, Supreme released their F/W ’20 lookbook and preview for the upcoming season. To be honest, I haven’t really cared for Supreme since FW17. I just stopped caring for what’s coming out soon because their designs have been just lazy. Lazy and unoriginal. Oh who could’ve forgot to, Supreme has been putting a heavy emphasis on overbranding. They just really want their customers to be wearing clothing pieces that says Supreme literally everywhere.

Anyways, here are a couple of items for the upcoming season that really took me by surprise. Might be looking forward to these items as they will definitely see resell value in the future.

Cross Box Logo Hooded Sweatshirt

Probably one of the weirdest box logo designs of all time. There’s no doubt that this piece will obviously flip, but I think it’ll flop just like the recent Paisley box logo. This probably might be the worst box logo design I’ve seen in my entire life. This just screams fake all around, something that you’ll be able to find in those downtown Korean or Chinese shops. As a matter of fact, I think there has already been fakes made of these already. So jokes on Supreme, they’re actually late on this design.

Futura Logo Tee

I actually like this tee. Simply because its in a collaboration with legendary graffiti artist Futura. I own this original tee since this is nothing new to Supreme. Supreme has been collaborating with Futura back then. They released a tee back in 2006, and a hoodie in 2011 with the infamous line from Goodfellas “fuck you pay me”. The only difference between the tees is that this version on the back of the tee says Justice for All, while the 2006 version has Divide & Conquer.

Verify Tee

This t-shirt is pure comedy. Basically a middle finger to those people botting Supreme;s site and having to deal with slow captchas. I thought it was funny Supreme would make a t-shirt like this. I expect couple people trying to cop this t-shirt at release and end up getting hit with unlimited captchas. Oh the coincidence.

Portrait Hooded Sweatshirt

IYKYK… Well if you don’t know I’ll gladly explain this to you. Supposedly, this design by artist Mike Mills was used on a Supreme tee back in 1995, making this tee really rare to collectors. There is only one listing available now on Grailed. I thought this was a nice nod to those that wanted this coveted tee back in the days to have a hooded sweatshirt. This wasn’t the first time Supreme reissued their designs. Recently, they resissued the Apple Hoodie and the Kraftwerk Cone Hoodie.

Supreme Colgate Toothpaste

One of the best things that I always look forward to when it comes to new seasons is their contribution to their accessories. Supreme has had some crazy and wacky accessories throughout the years. They’ve had accessories such as Ziploc BagsStaplersBurner Phone, and much more. To top it off this year,Supreme teamed up with Colgate for some toothpaste. Don’t expect this toothpaste to be of supreme quality.

Supreme Mortal Kombat Arcade Game

This is probably the best accessory to come out this season. We’ve seen some crazy accessories from a toolbox, drumset, and roadbikes. This arcade cabinet is absolutely insane. It’s pure nostalgia. I’m just really biased on this accessory since I grew up with Mortal Kombat, so this collaboration really came home. If I had space at home, I would actually cop this just to have it in my house. Arcade cabinets are already expensive in price, so with a Supreme collaboration here it’s bound to be more expensive than regular arcade cabinets.
